It is a story about two young sailors who were shipwrecked and rescued by fishermen.
They were taken to a small island in the Baltic Sea.
Where they both fell in love with the same woman.
Ето история о  двух молодых моряках которые потерпели кораблекрушение  во время шторма в море .Они были доставлены на маленький остров в Балтийском море , где они оба полюбили красивую молодую женщину. 

I think this is a very interesting film. It is an early film that used a lot of text, as in the silent movies.
The plot was simple and easy to understand.
It is a love story, but also a story of friendship.
It is innocent and the actors are very good.

Я думаю что это очень  интересннии фильм. Это ранний фильм в котором много текста так же как в немом фильме. 
Сюжет очень простой и лёгкий для понимания 
Это любовная история но также и история дружбы.

Multicultural Russia

Last Thursday evening |I was invitied to a celebration of Spring arriving. Funny now the ground is yet again covered with snow and the temperature is - 4

However, the event was on a boat / restaurant on the Volga. I was invited by students from Kostroma university who have links with former USSR states and countries , such as Azerbajan, Kazakistan and Armenia. The hospitality was tremendous , food , wine, singing, dancing, including a Russian choir singing about Kostroma. I had a great night and realised how diverse this culture really is. and lets be honest I was in the minority. being the only Enlgishman in Kostroma!

Busy, busy, busy

It's a while since I posted here, so much is going on, new projects, visits to Moscow, stamp clubs,Piano lessons, Russian lessons, French club, German club, cooking, Retro cinema, University Reading club and of course Ulysses. Not forgeting I am in the middle of an M/A in Creative Writing!

SO I am going to work backwards to keep a bit of sanity.
Today was great fun. We had our first session in a project.
Cafe Pierre Back in the Kitchen.
Working with Alina and the team at OK English, we hired a kitchen and 6 Superheros attented a 'hands on' cookery class.

Some of you know already that I am reading this amazing book.

Ulysses written by James Joyce.   Ihave been trying to read this book for many years and I have finally got to grips with the book and I am starting, only starting ! to understand why this book is often decribed as the greatest book ever written in the English language. As a writer myself, and I can now call myself a writer! I can see how Joyce has experimented in each chapter of his masterpiece using different approaches, styles, sometimes texts and sometimes nonsense, his allusion is phenomenal and awesome, as it is now clear that in order to write, in my opinion, you have to read. Anything, read it all! Newspapers, magazines, cartoons, online, but preferably in your library. Support these amazing places.

I will celebrate World Book day in my new Library here on Sovietskaya Ulitza in Kostroma by spending a hour or two in the reference library with James Joyce.

Pick up a book and escape!
